Who we are
We are a team of five junior year students at Walter Payton College Preparatory High School with shared interests in cybersecurity, hardware systems, and applied computing. As students growing up in an increasingly connected world, we have firsthand experience with the rapid adoption of smart devices in everyday life and the lack of transparency that comes with them. Our academic interests span computer science, engineering, and data science, and we bring complementary skills in networking, embedded systems, machine learning, software development, and user-focused design.
FortiFi emerged from our collective concern that consumer cybersecurity solutions are either inaccessible, overly technical, or dependent on invasive cloud-based monitoring. By combining our technical coursework, independent projects, and collaborative problem-solving experience, we aim to build a security solution that is both technically sound and approachable for non-experts. As a student-led team, we are motivated not only to innovate, but to address a real and growing problem with practical impact.
